As soon as Prince Harry announced his engagement to Meghan Markle, I knew that my plans for the 19th May 2018 would involve sitting in front of the TV with a glass of bubbly, felt and a pen and paper, ready to design my latest felt dolls.
You can image how relieved I was when Meghan stepped out of the car wearing her beautifully elegant, yet thankfully simple, wedding dress. Before they’re even exchanged their vows the felt version of Duchess of Sussex had been sewn!
For her gorgeous tiara I decided to dig out some seed beads to add some sparkle.
Meghan’s veil definitely had the wow factor didn’t it? The lace I used for my Meghan doll is very special to my family. It is lace left over from my Mum’s sister’s wedding dress, so it’s nearly sixty years old!
Of course I couldn’t forget Prince Harry, who looked very handsome in his uniform. His outfit was actually a lot more intricate, but I like a challenge.
I tried to include every detail, from the ruffles on his tunic to the medals on his chest.
